Here is the Benedict portrait that I did based off of a picture -I can't decide which version I prefer, so they're both here.
Here is a pop-art-esque portrait based off a picture of Asa Butterfield.
Both were done in Painter 12. I really, really like how they both turned out -at first, I was very skeptical of how well I would do on this project. Provided with a source image, though, I had a field day with it and really enjoyed creating these. I liked using Painter 12, because it had creative brushes and was overall pleasant to work with. This style of art consists of a lot of layering and patterns which work together to create an organized madness.
Exquisite work! I love the Rhythm and value that you put into these images. You have great balance and don't stray too far to one portion of the page. Very well done!
ReplyDeleteMister Cumberbatch up there has quite a wild background going on. I think I like the one of Asa better, though, because I like the simpler design. You should post the version from in-between-ish when it just faded to a single-color background, that one looked really cool.
ReplyDeleteThe symbols and shadows and whatnot, though, give a *really* good sense of scale. Scale, or possibly depth? Yeah, I'm going to go with depth, it's closer to the idea I'm attempting to convey.
